Hi, I’m Annika - the founder of Kaya Academy and the director of this Teacher Training.
When I first dreamed up this program, I kept thinking about the people who were missing out on traditional teacher training:
-
The ones who don’t live near a studio.
-
The ones juggling work, parenting, or caring for others.
-
The ones craving something real and inclusive—but who couldn’t find a training that felt doable.
I created this online version to reach more of you.
Because there’s a big gap in the yoga world: a need for training that’s high-quality, affordable, live and interactive, but also flexible enough to fit into a full life.
When I did my own teacher training, I was only able to do it thanks to a generous payment plan—and that changed everything for me. So now, I want to pay that gift forward.
I know what it’s like to have a million tabs open in your brain. I have a young family and hold space for a big yoga family too. That’s why we designed this training to work with your life—not against it.
I’m just an ordinary person who followed a spark—and somehow built something that now feels much bigger than me.
Every time someone joins this community, I’m reminded that incredible yoga teachers come from all walks of life. If you feel the call to deepen your practice or share yoga with others, you’re already on the path.
This training is more than a certification.
It’s a community.
It’s a transformation.
It’s a legacy in the making—and we’d be honoured to have you be part of it.
The biggest joy for me right now in my life is how I’ve been able to apply the teachings of yoga to my personal relationships, to my family, and to the way I run my business.
I’m a better mum and a better partner and I’m kinder to myself because of yoga. My daughter even teaches her classmates yoga at day-care. Pretty cool right?!
I wouldn’t be where I am without it and I want to bring you on the journey too … so I’ve created a teacher training that will facilitate that with ease and flow.
It’s my heartfelt wish that you’ll join us for the ride.

Payment Plan
Get started for $80, then pay every single week after for 37 weeks in total.
What Makes This Yoga Teacher Training Different?
There are a lot of yoga teacher trainings out there—but this one hits different. Here’s why:
🕕 Part-Time & Life-Friendly
We get it—you’ve got a life. Maybe it’s work, kids, or a calendar full of commitments. That’s why we run live classes two evenings a week—Monday and Wednesday from 6–9pm AEST via Zoom.
. No travel. No stress. Stay in your pyjamas if you prefer. A consistent rhythm you can work around.
💸 Extended Payment Plans
Not all of us have a money tree out the back (trust us, we’ve checked). That’s why we offer one of the most generous payment plans around: $80 a week for 37 weeks.
You’ll get world-class training at a price that won’t wreck your cash flow.
🌟 Exceptional Faculty
Our teaching team isn’t just good—they’re exceptional. You’ll learn from some of the most respected teachers in Sydney, including the beloved Katie Rose, Ari Hunter & Suzie Q, with a lineup of experts in anatomy, philosophy, sequencing, and more.
These aren’t just great teachers—they’re great humans.
🌏 Real Community, Online
This isn’t some impersonal, pre-recorded course. Every session is live. Every moment is interactive. And halfway through, we invite you to an optional 3-day in-person weekend at Nin Yoga Penrith to connect, refine, and get hands-on experience with alignment and assists.
Prefer to stay remote? You’ll still get the full experience through recordings of those sessions and community connection online.
🌈 Diverse, Down-to-Earth, and Damn Proud of It
Let’s be real—most people picture a yoga teacher as a bendy, bougie, white woman with a green smoothie habit wearing exceptionally overpriced yoga pants.
That’s not us.
Our community is a total mixed bag: different ages, bodies, cultures, and life stories. We've had 14-year-olds, 72-year-olds, new migrants, mums, tradies, students, retirees—you name it.
We believe yoga is for every body, and our training reflects that.
📍 Rooted in Western Sydney, Open to the World
We’ve spent years building an inclusive, warm, no-BS yoga community in Western Sydney via our studios known as "Nin Yoga". Now we’re opening the doors wider—to welcome students from all over Australia and beyond.
✨ Whoever you are, and wherever you’re tuning in from—you belong here.
Modules Explored
What You’ll Learn in This 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
This isn’t just about becoming a yoga teacher—it’s about deepening your understanding of yoga as a way of life. Here’s a peek into what we’ll explore together:
🕉 History of Yoga
Yoga is over 5,000 years old (!), and it’s still as relevant today as ever. We’ll journey through the roots of this ancient practice and explore how it continues to shape the way we live and move.
📜 Yoga Philosophy
Dive into the core texts that underpin the heart of yoga:
-
The Bhagavad Gita
-
The Hatha Yoga Pradipika
-
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
We’ll reflect on their timeless wisdom and explore how these teachings apply to our modern lives—on and off the mat.
📐 Alignment & Assists
Learn how to guide students safely into postures using your voice, your eyes, and your hands (when appropriate). You’ll explore verbal cues and hands-on adjustments to support every student’s unique body.
🫀 Anatomy & Physiology
Get familiar with the bones, muscles, joints, and body systems that support our movement. You’ll learn how the body works in motion—and how to keep it safe and strong in every class you teach.
✨ Subtle Anatomy
Go beyond muscles and bones to explore the energetic body. We’ll study the chakras, nadis, and koshas, and how they influence our physical and emotional wellbeing.
🧘 Meditation & Holding Space
Yoga was created to calm the mind. In this module, you’ll explore different meditation styles and learn how to hold safe, inclusive space for yourself and others to settle into stillness.
🌬 Pranayama (Breathwork)
Breath is one of yoga’s most powerful tools. You’ll learn a range of breathing techniques to energise, calm, and centre—and how to guide others through them with confidence.
🔗 Vinyasa Krama (Sequencing)
Learn how to craft intentional class flows that build gradually toward a physical or energetic peak. We’ll explore step-by-step sequencing that keeps students safe, engaged, and evolving.
📓 Class Planning
Discover the art of class design—from theme to breath, movement, and meditation. You’ll explore how to write sustainable, creative sequences that feel natural to teach (and keep students coming back).
🌿 Ayurveda
Yoga’s sister science offers deep insights into balance and wellness. We’ll introduce you to doshas, daily rituals, seasonal living, and how to use Ayurveda to support your teaching and your life.
👣 Teaching Beginners
Beginners need the most thoughtful teaching. You’ll learn how to make yoga accessible and welcoming for absolute newcomers—whether they’re stiff tradies, curious mums, or anyone in between.
🤰 Introduction to Pre-Natal Yoga
Pregnant students are often encouraged to start yoga—but how do we keep them safe and supported in a general class? This module gives you the tools to teach confidently and with care.
🧘♀️ Introduction to Yin Yoga
Slow, still, and deeply nourishing—Yin Yoga draws from Traditional Chinese Medicine and encourages long, supported holds. You’ll learn the foundations of this popular style, with options for further study if it lights you up.
💼 The Business of Yoga
Let’s get practical. In this module, we cover everything you wish someone told you:
-
How to work as a freelance teacher
-
What an ABN is and how to set one up
-
Invoicing, superannuation, and tax
-
How to get paid (and paid fairly)
-
Staying sustainable as a self-employed teacher
Because teaching yoga is a calling—but also a career.

Kind words from graduates
"Yoga has changed my life. Learning and sharing yoga is so much more than the physical aspect of yoga. It is really a journey within itself, a transformational journey that you embark on.
It's a journey where you find out who you are and what lies underneath the surface.
It has been the greatest and most rewarding thing that I have ever done. I highly encourage you to embark on this extraordinary journey, even if the end goal is not becoming a teacher."
- Mihaela

"No time is the right time, but any time is perfect!
Being ‘ready’ isn’t a state it’s a choice! 🧘♀️
Deciding to be ready doesn’t mean all your worries go away; it doesn’t mean your stress, anxieties and doubts go away. It means that you are strong enough to take a step into this new direction. Even if it is only a small step. 👣
Part of that process is finding your voice as a teacher, as a yogi, and as a human being.
Grateful to have shared this space with other wonderful souls.
And the journey begins…"
- Katrina

Who is this training not for?
Beginners with limited yoga experience: Our training is designed for individuals with a solid foundation in yoga. We believe in the value of a comprehensive and immersive training experience to truly cultivate skilled and authentic yoga teachers. If you're looking for a quick certification without the commitment to in-depth learning and self-reflection, our program may not be the best fit.
Yoga is for every day in your life.
It’s for the days you are feeling overwhelmed, the days you are struggling to get up and go to work, the days you are having arguments with your partner, and every other day in between. It gives us the tools to be calmer and more patient parents, more open-minded and present friends, and put simply just kinder and more peaceful humans in general.

I'm in!

Learn More About Your Lead Teacher
Hi again! I’m Annika Saigi—yoga teacher since 2015, studio owner since 2017, and proud founder of Kaya Academy.
My journey started in India, the birthplace of yoga, where I completed my first 500 hours of Yoga Teacher Training. I came home to Western Sydney lit up with purpose and a deep desire to share yoga with my local community—especially because there weren’t many spaces like that around here at the time.
I grew up in the west (shoutout to Colyton High & St Marys Senior 👋), where yoga studios were basically non-existent. I got sick of travelling across Sydney for a decent class, so I thought… Why not create the kind of studio I wish existed in my own backyard?
And just like that, Nin Yoga was born.
We started humbly at the local Neighbourhood Centre—and outgrew it within three months! That’s when we opened our first bricks-and-mortar home in St Marys. A few years later, we added our second location in Penrith, and from there, the community just kept growing.
But something else became clear as we ran more teacher trainings:
So many people wanted to do yoga teacher training… but couldn’t.
Maybe they lived too far away. Maybe they couldn’t take full weekends off. Or maybe they felt like they didn’t “fit the mold” of a typical yoga teacher.
So I created Kaya Academy—an inclusive, down-to-earth training school built on one big mission:
👉 To make world-class yoga teacher training more accessible, more real, and a whole lot less boring.
With Kaya Academy, you can now complete your 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training fully online—live, interactive, and connected, no matter where you are in Australia. It’s designed for real people with real lives (and full calendars).
Whether you’re here to deepen your practice or step into teaching, just know this:
You belong here. And I’m so excited to guide you on this path.
While I love teaching yoga, my true passion is building community—the kind where people feel seen, supported, and safe to be themselves.
Over the years, I’ve taught more than 3,000 hours of yoga and meditation classes, and I’ve had the privilege of facilitating several teacher trainings (which, honestly, have been some of the most rewarding work of my life). But what lights me up the most is seeing people come together—whether it's for a class, a festival, or a teacher training like this one.
I’m also deeply committed to supporting local artists, small businesses, and creative souls. And when I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me spending time with my beautiful fam bam—6-year-old Maya and our newest little one, Nara, who joined us Earthside in late 2022.
My classes tend to be insightful, grounding, and (when the mood strikes) a little spicy. I love mixing deep teachings with a light touch—and maybe a few laughs along the way.
I’m beyond excited to hold space for this journey alongside some of my own teachers and mentors—right here, close to home, in a way that’s accessible, affordable, and achievable for more people than ever before.
Directing this teacher training feels right in our bellies and hearts—and we have a feeling it’ll feel right in yours too. 💛

What are the Dates?
Do you love to plan ahead? We love that for you (and so will your future yoga teacher self).
Our online training runs from Monday 2nd February to Wednesday 29th July 2026, with live sessions held:
💻 Mondays 6pm – 9pm (AEST) via Zoom
💻 Wednesdays 6pm – 9pm (AEST) via Zoom
There may be a handful of optional Saturday or Sunday sessions sprinkled in to accommodate guest teachers like Katie Rose and Ari Hunter, who are only available on weekends. These sessions will be recorded for those who can’t make it live.
We ask that:
-
You attend all Zoom sessions live where possible
-
Keep your camera on and your heart open—this is a shared experience, not just a webinar
Can’t make a session? We get it—life happens.
Just give us a heads-up, and we’ll have recordings and catch-up work ready for you.
We’re here to support you every step of the way—and we’ll meet you wherever you are (literally and energetically 💛).
A full list of key dates will be available in the Frequently Asked Questions once confirmed.

"This year has been transformational and brutal, but immense beauty and light come with that. I've learnt above all to find grace in starting again, and again and again if I need to. To find curiosity with that. Why? Because I have the breath, the building block of everything. Yoga is so much more than the physical Asana. It's a philosophy of unity with the mind, body and soul.
I am so grateful to have shared this experience with these wonderful humans, and I am beyond honoured and grateful."
- Daniella

"I am not the traditional Instagram Yogi, and I feel that I would resonate more with people who don't find yoga easily accessible to them.
Teacher training has been an incredible journey of self-discovery and being able to learn in such a safe space.
Nin Yoga and the teachers who are part of this journey are all professionals in their field. I suppose they are at the height of their yoga journey, but they are just incredible. They are willing to share a safe space. They all acknowledge you. I couldn't recommend it any more."
- Shirley
"If you are thinking about doing yoga teacher training, I cannot recommend Nin Yoga highly enough. It is a heart-centered yoga teacher training course, and Annika is the most amazing teacher you can ever have, along with all the people she collaborates with. You will challenge yourself and find joy in all the little things. I just cannot say how much you will love it. I highly recommend it. "
- Samantha
"I just didn't realise the depth of what you would learn in yoga on the teacher training course, and I'm just so grateful it has just opened my world, my mind, my heart to a whole, a whole new world that I just didn't even really understand existed.
I'm so very grateful to all of the teachers Annika has collected and brought onto this course. They have all been phenomenal. They're all absolute experts in their subject matter.
I highly recommend it to anyone who's thinking about doing yoga teacher training in Sydney. Make the drive out to Penrith. It is amazing. You will not regret it. It's just been fabulous. Thank you so much."
- Ness
"It's built a lot of my confidence, especially kind of holding space for other people in this class, and I've just really enjoyed that time as well to reflect on what's important to me."
- Alex
"I was really surprised. It's not all about just poses. So, the journey has been awesome. I would recommend it any day to do a teacher training course; it's helped me so much.
My confidence and the support that I get from the teachers have been amazing. Not to mention the beautiful ladies that I have come in contact with. So I'm very happy doing the yoga course."
- Isobel
"I signed up because I wanted to know more about yoga. I learnt breathing techniques. I learnt how to hold my pose properly. I found an amazing bunch of women that I think will be in my life for a while now, for a long time, and everything about this class is just absolutely fantastic.
When I first started this, I didn't want to be a yoga teacher, but now I think and feel that that's what I want to do. That's the path I want to take. And that's all because of Annika and her amazing team, who have brought us through this whole six months of amazingness."
- Simone
"Really hope that you do our yoga teacher training at Nin Yoga. I had such a beautiful experience, such a game changer.
I met so many wonderful people. You'll have beautiful connections, and you'll learn so much. It is not just about the postures but the whole philosophy.
So come down to Nin Yoga at Penrith, have the bravery and vulnerability to show up as your true self, and just come along. I'm sure you'll enjoy it."
- Skye
"My journey with yoga was very asana-focused and posture-focused. So, coming to my Yoga Teacher Training, I thought, "I know what I'm doing; I do yoga all the time. I know I can do this."
Little did I know that the internal, subtle energies of yoga really changed who I am as a person and has opened up an energy within me that I cannot wait to now take out into our communities and share.
Thank you, Annika, so much. I'm honoured and grateful to be a part of your community, and I cannot wait to share my journey with you and those around us."
- Jennifer
