20 Hour Yoga Nidra Teacher Training

Sundays 9:15am - 4:15pm for 3 weeks in total, starting 30th of May 2027.

For yoga teachers, wellness professionals, or anyone craving deeper rest, nervous system regulation, and inner awareness through the practice of Yoga Nidra.

This sounds divine

Feeling ready to slow down, soften, and explore the deeper layers of rest, awareness, and nervous system healing through Yoga Nidra?

What if you dedicated three Sundays to a training with Suzie Q that could completely shift the way you hold space, both for yourself and your students?

Our 20 Hour Yoga Nidra Teacher Training is designed for yoga teachers, wellness practitioners, and dedicated students wanting to explore the profound practice of yogic sleep through both traditional teachings and modern nervous system understanding.

This training is intentional, accessible, grounded, and deeply restorative.

Together, we will explore the foundations and methodology of Yoga Nidra inspired by the teachings of Swami Satyananda Saraswati, while also integrating trauma awareness, nervous system regulation, rest practices, script writing, and practical teaching application.

This is not just about reading scripts in a soft voice.

It’s about understanding:
• how deep rest impacts the body and mind
• how to guide students safely into restorative states
• how Yoga Nidra can support stress, burnout, and emotional regulation
• how to confidently facilitate meaningful experiences for others

Over three Sundays at Nin Yoga Penrith, you’ll be guided by Suzie Q, E-RYT 500, who has completed Yoga Nidra Teacher Trainings through Sukawati Yoga School Indonesia and My Vinyasa Practice, alongside iRest Level 1 training.

At Nin Yoga and Kaya Academy, we believe learning should feel supportive, welcoming, and deeply human. We are not interested in perfection or performance. We are interested in real practice, meaningful connection, and sustainable teaching.

Whether you’re looking to expand your teaching toolkit, deepen your personal practice, or simply reconnect with rest in a world that glorifies exhaustion, this training has the potential to deeply impact both your life and your teaching.

We would LOVE to welcome you into this intimate training.

I'm ready to soften.

What makes our Yoga Nidra Training different?

There are a few things about this training that make it feel really different from a lot of the wellness world out there right now.

It’s grounded in lineage, not trends.

This training is heavily inspired by the teachings of Swami Satyananda Saraswati and the traditional methodology of Yoga Nidra, while still making the practice accessible and relevant for modern life.

We’re not trying to turn Yoga Nidra into a performance or a trendy spiritual aesthetic. We’re interested in depth, nervous system awareness, rest, and learning how to hold space properly.

It’s practical, not performative.

This is not just about reading a script in a calming voice.

You’ll learn:
• how Yoga Nidra impacts the nervous system
• how to create safe and restorative spaces
• how to structure and guide practices
• how to support students experiencing stress and burnout
• how to write your own Yoga Nidra scripts and classes

You’ll leave with tools you can actually use.

The schedule is realistic.

We know people have lives.

Families. Work. Responsibilities. Exhaustion.

So instead of making this an overwhelming intensive, we’ve structured it over three Sundays from 9:15am – 4:15pm at Nin Yoga Penrith.

Enough time to go deep without completely taking over your life.

Everything is recorded.

Every session will be recorded and uploaded to our online platform, along with extra resources and homework.

If you miss part of the training or simply want to revisit the content later, you’ll have ongoing access to support your learning and integration.

Suzie Q is genuinely experienced.

Suzie is not someone who discovered Yoga Nidra six months ago and decided to run a training.

She is an E-RYT 500 teacher who has completed Yoga Nidra Teacher Trainings through:
• Sukawati Yoga School Indonesia
• My Vinyasa Practice
• iRest Level 1 Training

She also brings years of experience teaching restorative yoga, nervous system regulation practices, meditation, and embodied movement.

We’re not interested in creating “perfect” yoga teachers.

At Nin Yoga and Kaya Academy, we care far more about authenticity than performance.

You do not need to:
• look a certain way
• be hyper-spiritual
• have your life together
• be flexible
• speak in a soft yoga voice
• know everything already

You just need curiosity, openness, and a willingness to learn.

Our community is made up of real people from all different backgrounds, ages, body types, cultures, professions, and life experiences.

We are proudly based in Western Sydney, surrounded by diversity, and we genuinely believe yoga should be accessible to everyone.

All are welcome.

Modules Explored

History & Origins of Yoga Nidra

Explore the roots of Yoga Nidra through the teachings of Swami Satyananda Saraswati and the yogic traditions that shaped the practice. Understand how Yoga Nidra evolved from ancient meditation techniques into a modern practice for nervous system restoration, self-inquiry, and deep rest.

The Science of Rest & Nervous System Regulation

Learn how stress, burnout, trauma, and overstimulation impact the body and mind. We will explore the nervous system, brainwave states, rest responses, and how Yoga Nidra can support emotional regulation, recovery, and overall wellbeing.

Structure & Methodology of Yoga Nidra

Break down the traditional stages of Yoga Nidra practice, including Sankalpa, body rotation, breath awareness, visualization, and awareness techniques. Learn why the sequence matters and how to guide students through the practice safely and effectively.

Meditation, Awareness & Inner Observation

Yoga Nidra is more than relaxation. It is a practice of awareness.

We will explore mindfulness, witnessing consciousness, meditation techniques, and the subtle shift from “doing” into observing. Learn how these practices help students reconnect with themselves in a world that rarely slows down.

Breath Awareness & Relaxation Techniques

Develop confidence guiding breath-centred practices that prepare the body and mind for Yoga Nidra. Learn techniques for grounding, down-regulating the nervous system, and helping students transition into deeper states of rest.

Trauma Awareness & Holding Safe Spaces

Learn how to hold space in a way that feels grounded, compassionate, and trauma-aware. We will discuss nervous system sensitivity, language choices, pacing, consent, and how to create environments where students feel safe to soften and let go.

Writing & Structuring Your Own Yoga Nidra Scripts

Move beyond simply reading someone else’s script.

Learn how to structure and write your own Yoga Nidra journeys using intention, imagery, sensory awareness, and nervous system-informed sequencing. Explore how different themes, language, and pacing can shape the experience for your students.

Voice, Tone & Facilitation Skills

The way you guide Yoga Nidra matters.

We will explore tone of voice, pacing, silence, rhythm, and verbal cueing to help you guide practices that feel authentic, calming, and engaging without sounding forced or performative.

Practical Teaching & Integration

You will have opportunities to practice teaching throughout the training and receive feedback and support from Suzie Q and fellow students.

This training is designed not just to give you information, but to help you embody the practice and feel confident sharing it with others.

The Role of Rest in Modern Life

We live in a culture that glorifies busyness and exhaustion.

Throughout this training, we will reflect on the importance of stillness, rest, and creating sustainable practices for ourselves and our communities. Yoga Nidra becomes not just a technique, but a way of relating differently to ourselves and the world around us.

This training combines traditional Yoga Nidra teachings with modern nervous system understanding and practical facilitation tools to help you guide meaningful experiences rooted in rest, awareness, and genuine human connection.

We encourage students to highlight, journal, reflect, and truly engage with the material throughout the training.

The online platform will also include:

This is not just theory. The training is designed to help you feel confident actually facilitating the practice.

20 Hour Yoga Nidra Training Certificate

Upon completing all in-person hours, homework, and practical requirements, you will receive your 20 Hour Yoga Nidra Training Certificate through Kaya Academy.

You will leave with the confidence and understanding to begin integrating Yoga Nidra into:
• yoga classes

• restorative practices

We will also continue to provide access to the online platform recordings after graduation, allowing you to revisit the teachings and continue deepening your understanding over time.

Who is this training for?

Yoga Teachers

If you are already a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher or beyond, this training is a beautiful way to expand your offerings and deepen your ability to hold space.

Yoga Nidra can be integrated into:
• yoga classes
• restorative classes
• meditation offerings
• retreats
• private sessions
• wellness and healing spaces

This training will help you confidently guide rest practices that support nervous system regulation, stress reduction, and deeper self-awareness for your students.

Yoga & Meditation Practitioners

You do not need to want to teach to join us.

If you have a genuine interest in Yoga Nidra, meditation, nervous system healing, or deep rest practices, you are absolutely welcome.

Some students join simply because they are burnt out, overwhelmed, curious, or craving a deeper connection with themselves.

This training can be a powerful personal experience as much as a professional one.

Wellness Professionals & Space Holders

This training may also resonate with:
• meditation teachers
• massage therapists
• counsellors
• breathwork facilitators
• sound healers
• wellness practitioners

Anyone wanting to better understand rest, regulation, and holding safe, grounded spaces may benefit from this work.

Please Note

If you are not already a certified yoga teacher, this training alone does not qualify you as a Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance.

This is considered continuing education and advanced study.

That being said, you are still more than welcome to join for personal growth, self-development, and learning.

Who is this training not for?

Complete Beginners to Yoga & Meditation

This training is designed for people with some existing experience in yoga, meditation, or wellness practices.

If you are completely brand new to yoga or meditation, we would gently encourage you to spend some time attending regular classes or beginner-friendly offerings first so the training feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

Those Wanting a Quick Certification

This is not a “weekend certificate” style training.

We care deeply about integrity, depth, reflection, and real understanding. This training asks students to engage with the practices, reflect on the teachings, and participate fully in the learning process.

If you are simply wanting a quick qualification without genuine interest in the practice itself, this may not be the right fit.

Those Unwilling to Slow Down

Yoga Nidra asks us to soften, listen, observe, and rest.

For some people, that can feel surprisingly uncomfortable.

This training is for people willing to explore stillness, reflection, and a different way of relating to themselves beyond constant productivity and doing.

Yoga Nidra and meditation are not just practices for the “good” days.

They are for the days you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, disconnected, emotionally stretched, or like your nervous system is running on empty.

They are for the days you struggle to get out of bed, the days you feel reactive and impatient, the days you feel disconnected from yourself and everyone around you, and every other ordinary human moment in between.

These practices remind us how to slow down, breathe, soften, and actually listen.

Over time, they can help us become calmer and more present partners, more patient parents, more grounded teachers, and more compassionate humans overall.

In a world constantly asking us to do more, Yoga Nidra offers something many of us are deeply missing:

Rest. Stillness. Awareness. Space.
